So who is Jude Walta?
Winemaker, becomes Marketer, becomes Human Centred Designer…
I guess it’s not the most obvious progression, but I like to think that the one thing that my career has always had is people at it’s heart. Wine is best when shared with the ones we love. So making it and marketing it, in many ways was about helping to bring people together through a shared experience.
As my career was progressing in marketing it became obvious to me that what I enjoyed the most was finding out what people really needed, and then creating experiences that would help meet those needs. Couple that with a geeky fascination of the ever enchanting world of tech, and a few Google searches later I would find myself enrolling in a part time UX design course and working on two client projects, which would turn into a full time immersive UX design course and the start of what I hope will be a long career in the field of human centred design. I’m a huge believer in life long learning so my studies are far from over. Recently I have dived into the world of Anthropology to continue to develop new ways of understanding people and the impact that societies, evolution and our understanding of the world have on us. I’m also actively working on my content design, story telling and data visualisation skills.
From the moment I first started learning about human centred design I knew it was something that I wanted to try and learn everything there was to know. People are my greatest preoccupation, there’s not a day that goes by that I’m not surprised and humbled by humanity, so the prospect of a career that places creating better experiences for people at the heart of is one that I find truly inspiring.
